2. Creating Your SkillResy Account

Getting started with SkillResy is simple and takes just a few minutes. Follow these steps to create your account and set up your profile.

Step 1: Choose Your User Type

  1. Open the SkillResy application.
  2. On the “Select Your Role” screen, choose one of the two options:
    • Candidate / Professional: Select this if you’re actively seeking employment opportunities or want assistance with virtual meetings.
    • Student: Select this if you’re currently pursuing your education.
  3. Tap the role that best describes you.
  4. Select “Continue” at the bottom of the screen.
  5. If you already have an account, select “Sign In” at the bottom of the page instead.
Creating Your SkillResy Account

Step 2: Enter Your Personal Details

The registration process begins with collecting your basic information.

  • Required Information (marked with *):
    • Full Name: Enter your complete name.
    • Email: Provide a valid email address; you’ll use this to log in.
    • Phone Number: Include your contact number with the country code.
    • Password: Create a strong password for your account.
    • Confirm Password: Re-enter the password to confirm.
  • Optional Information:
    • LinkedIn Profile: Add one or multiple LinkedIn profile URLs.
    • Personal Website: Include your portfolio or personal site link.
  • Tips:
    • Create a password with at least eight characters, mixing letters and numbers.
    • Double-check your email; important notifications arrive there.
    • Use the eye icon next to each password field to show or hide what you type.
    • Click “Next” once all required fields are complete.

    • Desired Job Titles: Add as many titles as you’re targeting (use the + button).
    • Preferred Industries: Select the industries you want to work in.
    • Location Preference: Choose preferred work locations from the dropdown.
    • Desired Salary Range: Select your expected salary range.

    • Long-term Goals: Describe your career aspirations (e.g., “Become a technical lead and mentor junior developers”).

    • Be specific with job titles for better resume and interview suggestions.
    • Add multiple job titles and industries to keep your options open.

    • Use the long-term goals field to help Scout tailor advice.

  • Required Information (marked with *):
    • Degree Type: Select your degree level (Bachelor’s, Master’s, etc.).
    • Major: Choose your field of study.
    • Institution: Select where you studied.
    • Graduation Date: Enter your graduation date in DD/MM/YYYY format.
  • Optional Information:
    • Additional Degrees: Add more if you have them.
    • Certifications: Include any professional certifications.
    • Degree Not Completed: Check this box if you’re still enrolled or didn’t finish.
  • Tips:
    • Add all of your degrees, starting with the most recent.
    • Include certifications relevant to your goals.
    • Use the form to add multiple majors or institutions as needed.
    • Click “Next” to proceed.

Step 5: Showcase Your Work Experience

Highlight your professional background to strengthen your profile.

  • Upload Resume Option:
    • Select “Upload resume to prefill” to automatically populate your work history, education, and skills.
    • Accepted formats: PDF or DOCX (maximum 5MB).
  • Manual Entry:
    • Job Title: Enter your role.
    • Company: Provide the organization name.
    • Start Date / End Date: Use DD/MM/YYYY formats.
    • I still work here: Check if the role is current.
    • Key Responsibilities (Optional): Describe duties and achievements (up to 1000 characters).
  • Tips:
    • Start with your most recent position.
    • Use the resume upload feature to save time.
    • Include quantifiable achievements in your responsibilities.
    • Select “+ Add more work experience” for each additional job.
    • Click “Next” when finished.

  • Required Information (marked with *):
    • Hard Skills: Add technical skills specific to your field.

    1. Click on the input field under each category.
    2. Type your skill name.

A greeting with your name and today’s date sits across the top. The crown icon in the corner acts as a quick status badge, letting you know whether you’re on the core plan or enjoying premium access—no digging through settings required.

Track Progress Section

Four live counters help you monitor momentum:

  • Resumes Generated: Total resumes produced via the AI Resume Builder.
  • Job Applications: Applications you’re drafting, tracking, or managing.
  • Interviews: Sessions scheduled or completed with the Interview Assistant.
  • Activities: Overall actions taken across the platform.

Recent Activity

This feed highlights everything you just worked on—resume generations, interview sessions, study refreshers, and more. New accounts show “No recent activities” until you start exploring.

Bottom Navigation Bar

The always-on nav bar keeps your most-used tools one tap away:

  • Dashboard: Jump back to the overview screen.
  • Resumes: Open the AI Resume Builder.

4. AI Resume Builder

Scout’s AI Resume Builder turns your profile data and target job info into polished, ATS-safe resumes in minutes. Choose to enhance an existing resume or build something brand new.

Accessing the Resume Builder

  1. Tap the Resumes icon in the bottom navigation bar.
  2. On the “Ready to Out Fox your Resume?” screen, choose whether to upload an existing document or start from scratch.

Option 1: Upload Existing Resume

Perfect when you already have a draft and want Scout to optimize it for a specific role.

  1. Select Upload Resume.
  2. Pick a PDF or DOCX file (max 5 MB) from your device.
  3. Let Scout parse the content, then customize it for the job you’re targeting.

Best for: Job seekers who want to elevate an existing resume for each application.

Option 2: Build a Resume from Scratch

Great for first-time creators or anyone pivoting into a new role.

  1. Tap Create Resume.
  2. Scout pulls in the details you entered during registration.
  3. Follow the guided 4-step flow to tailor every section.

Best for: Building a net-new resume powered by your SkillResy profile.

Step 1: Review & Edit Your Profile Information

Scout gives you a final chance to fine-tune your profile data before it populates the resume.

  • Review Personal Details, Career Goals, Education, Work Experience, Skills & Tools, and Optional Info.
  • Expand any section using the dropdown arrows to make edits.
  • Accurate inputs = stronger resume output. Click Continue when everything looks good.

Step 2: Who’s This Resume For?

Tell Scout about the specific opportunity so it can weave in the right keywords.

  • Required: Job Title.
  • Optional: Company Name, LinkedIn job link, or a pasted job description (up to 5,000 characters).
  • Scout uses this context to align wording with ATS filters and hiring manager expectations.
  • Click Continue to move on.

Step 3: Choose Resume Style

Pick the template that fits the role or industry you’re targeting.

  • ATS Friendly: Clean structure designed for applicant tracking systems (recommended default).
  • Modern: Visual-forward layout for creative or design-conscious roles.
  • Professional: Classic format for corporate or formal environments.
  • Tap to select a style—your choice is confirmed with a checkmark—then hit Continue.

Step 4: Final Resume Preview

  • Scout displays a success message (e.g., “ATS Friendly Resume Generated!”) plus a full preview.
  • File size appears at the bottom so you know it’s attachment-ready.
  • Available actions:
    • Tap to View: Open a full-screen preview.
    • Edit Resume: Jump back in to tweak content or switch styles.
    • Download PDF: Save the file to your device or share it immediately.
  • Every generated resume is stored in your SkillResy account for fast updates later.

Resume Builder Best Practices

  • Customize each resume for the job at hand—no generic drafts.
  • Paste the full job description or LinkedIn link so Scout can optimize keywords.
  • Proofread before downloading; Scout is powerful, but your final review ensures accuracy.
  • Keep your profile updated so the builder pulls in the latest data.
  • Create multiple resume versions for different roles, seniority levels, or industries.
  • Default to the ATS Friendly template for online applications unless design flair is specifically valued.

5. AI Interview Assistant

The AI Interview Assistant is a live co-pilot for interviews, meetings, mock sessions, and even negotiations. Scout transcribes every word, coaches you in real time, and wraps up each conversation with actionable insights.

What Is the Interview Assistant?

  • Real-time transcription so you can follow the conversation and capture exact language.
  • Smart coaching that surfaces role- and company-aware talking points on demand.
  • Follow-up question prompts to deepen answers or keep discussions moving.
  • Automatic post-session summaries covering highlights, improvement areas, and action items.
  • Searchable session history with filters and metadata for fast reference.

Accessing the Interview Assistant

  1. From the dashboard or quick actions menu, tap the Meetings icon in the bottom nav.
  2. The Meetings home screen loads with Scout standing by.
  3. Select Start Meeting Assistant to configure a new session.

Configuring Your Session

Give Scout the right context so guidance feels custom-tailored:

  • Session Type: Pick Interview (when you’re the candidate) or Meeting (client calls, performance reviews, 1:1s, etc.).
  • Role / Industry (Required): Add the job title or function so responses match your domain.
  • Company Name: Helps Scout research tone, culture, and talking points.
  • Job Description: Paste the posting or LinkedIn link so Scout understands the skills and requirements.
  • Language: Choose English (currently supported) for transcription and coaching.

Click Continue once the form is complete—Scout will be ready from the first “hello.”

During Your Session

Scout stays active throughout the call so you can stay present instead of scrambling for notes.

  • Real-time Transcription: Live speech-to-text shows each line of dialogue as it happens.
  • Help Me Scout: Tap when you need an expertly worded response—it leverages your role, company, and current conversation.
  • Follow-up Questions: Instantly surface thoughtful prompts to expand on answers or steer the discussion.

Use Scout’s suggestions as scaffolding, then add your voice to keep everything authentic.

Post-Session Summary & History

After the session, Scout compiles everything you need to debrief quickly:

  • Session metadata: Type, role, company, date, and time.
  • Key discussion points: Highlights of the topics you covered.
  • Performance insights: Strengths observed plus improvement areas.
  • Action items: Follow-ups you promised or next steps to tackle.
  • Full transcript: Searchable text for every exchange.

Need more clarity? Ask Scout post-session questions like “What were the toughest technical prompts?” or “How can I tighten my product story?”

All past sessions live in History (tap the clock icon). Filter by session type, date range, or keywords to jump right back into any transcript or summary.

Troubleshooting Tips

  • Transcription not working: Re-check mic permissions, background noise, and connectivity.
  • AI suggestions feel off: Confirm the role, company, and job description you entered.
  • Missing past sessions: Use History filters and make sure summary generation was toggled on.
  • Audio quality issues: Move closer to the mic, reduce noise, or switch to a headset.

Managing Your Profile

Your profile is the foundation of your SkillResy experience. It powers personalized resumes, meeting assistance, and career insights, so the more complete it is, the smarter Scout becomes.

Accessing Your Profile

  1. Tap the "Profile" icon in the bottom navigation bar.
  2. Your complete profile opens instantly with all sections stacked vertically.

Use the red Logout button at the bottom of the page whenever you need to sign out—your data stays synced and ready for the next session.

Each section includes a pencil edit icon on the right. Tap it to jump into the editing screen for that specific area.

Account Information

  • Profile avatar (initials in a circle) or uploaded photo.
  • Full name and member status (e.g., “Member since Oct 2025”).
  • Quick view of your primary role and subscription.

Personal Details

  • Email address, phone number, LinkedIn profile, and personal website/portfolio links.
  • Keep this section current so recruiters can always reach you.

Career Goals & Preferences

  • Desired job titles: Roles you’d love to land next.
  • Industry preferences: Target industries to focus your search.
  • Location preferences: Remote, hybrid, or on-site plus preferred cities.
  • Long-term career goals: Where you want to be in the future.

Education

  • Degree type, major, institution, graduation date, and any certifications.
  • Supports multiple degrees so you can showcase your full academic path.

Work Experience

  • Job title, company, employment dates, and detailed achievements.
  • Reverse chronological order with a “Current” indicator on active roles.

Skills & Tools

  • Hard skills, soft skills, and tools/technologies you’re confident with.
  • Use tags or grouped lists to highlight strengths at a glance.

Others (Optional Information)

  • Languages, volunteer work, hobbies & interests, and references.
  • Sections labeled “Not provided” mean you can add details whenever you’re ready.

Editing Your Profile

  1. Locate the section you want to update.
  2. Tap the pencil icon to open the edit screen.
  3. Make changes, add supporting details, and tap Save.
  4. Your updates sync immediately across resumes, meetings, and insights.

Important: Keep your profile updated after new roles, certifications, or skills so Scout always works with accurate data.

Logging Out

The red “Logout” button lives at the very bottom of the Profile page. Tap it anytime you need to sign out. All data remains securely stored so you can log back in and pick up right where you left off.

  • Complete every section to unlock the most accurate AI resume drafts.
  • Add detailed bullet points to work experience so accomplishments shine.

Student Registration Process

If you selected "Student" during onboarding, Scout walks you through a streamlined 2-step flow that focuses on academic background and future goals.

Step 1: Basic Information

  • Full Name* (entered twice for confirmation)
  • Email* for login and notifications
  • Phone Number* with country code
  • Password* and Confirm Password* with show/hide eye icons

Tips: Choose a password with at least 8 characters mixing letters and numbers, double-check your email, and click Next once every required field shows a green check.

Step 2: Academic Information

  • Hometown*
  • School*
  • Expected Graduation Date* (calendar picker—add multiple dates if you have overlapping programs)
  • Major* or majors if you’re pursuing more than one
  • Ideal Job Titles after Graduation* (tap + to add multiple tags)

Add as many graduation dates and majors as needed—ideal for dual majors or transfer situations.

Agreement Required

Before completing the process, check the box agreeing to the Privacy Policy and Terms of Use, then tap Signup.

Registration Complete!

Congratulations! Your Student account is ready. You’ll land on the personalized Student Dashboard where study materials, quizzes, and progress tracking await.

Dashboard Overview

The Student Dashboard keeps everything you need on one screen. A welcome banner displays “Keep Learning, [Your Name]!”, the current date, a crown icon for your account status, and a book icon to signal Study mode.

New students will see all metrics set to “0”. They update automatically as you create subjects, upload materials, and take quizzes.

Track Progress Section

  • Total Quizzes: AI-generated and custom quizzes across subjects
  • Total Subjects: Number of courses or topics
  • Total Documents: Uploaded study materials (PDFs, PPTs, Word docs, TXT)

Bottom Navigation Bar

  • Dashboard: Home screen
  • Study Space: Access and organize study materials
  • Profile: View/edit personal and academic information

The navigation bar stays pinned at the bottom of every page, so you’re never more than one tap away from your next task.

Understanding Your Progress Metrics

  • Total Quizzes: Completed, in-progress, practice quizzes
  • Total Subjects: Organized by course/topic
  • Total Documents: Uploaded study materials used to generate quizzes

How Your Metrics Update

  • Create a new subject in Study Space → Total Subjects increases.
  • Upload a document to any lecture → Total Documents increases.
  • Generate a quiz from one or more documents → Total Quizzes increases.
  • Complete study sessions or quizzes → Related metrics refresh in real time.

  • Click "Study Space" to create your first subject

Study Space - Organizing Your Learning

Study Space is your hub to organize materials, create subjects, add lectures, upload documents, and generate AI-powered quizzes.

  1. Tap "Study Space" in bottom navigation
  2. Welcome message: "Organize Your Study Materials with Scout"
  3. + Create Your First Subject button
  4. History icon for past quizzes and sessions

Step 1: Creating a Subject

  1. Click "+ Create Your First Subject"
  2. Enter a subject name (50 characters max)
  3. Click "Create"

Examples: Maths, Computer Science 101, World History

Step 2: Adding Lectures to a Subject

  1. Open your subject
  2. Click + button to add lecture
  3. Enter lecture name (50 characters max)
  4. Click "Add"

Tips: Descriptive, concise, include week/chapter numbers or dates.

Step 3: Uploading Study Documents

  1. Open a lecture
  2. Click "Upload Your First Document"
  3. Select file from your device

Supported files: PDF, DOC, DOCX, PPT, PPTX, TXT. Document info displayed: filename, size, upload date. Multiple files allowed.

Step 4: Creating AI-Powered Quizzes

  1. Open the lecture that contains the study materials you want to practice.
  2. In the “Select documents to generate quiz” section, tap the checkbox beside each file you want to include; the top bar shows how many are selected.
  3. Use single documents for focused drills or mix multiple files for a broader quiz.
  4. Tap Generate Quiz in the top-right corner.
  5. Scout analyzes the selected files and builds multiple-choice, true/false, or short-answer questions.
  6. You’re taken directly into the quiz interface to start answering.

Difficulty adjusts automatically based on the depth of your documents, and you can generate as many quizzes as you need from the same materials.

  • Questions from documents (MCQ, true/false, short answer)

Student Profile Management

Your Student Profile contains all your personal information, academic details, and career goals. Keeping your profile updated ensures that SkillResy can provide you with the most relevant study materials and future career guidance.

Accessing Your Student Profile

To view or edit your profile:

  1. Tap on the "Profile" icon in the bottom navigation bar
  2. Your complete profile will be displayed with all sections

Student Profile Sections Overview

Your Student Profile is organized into clear sections, each with an edit icon on the right. Here's what each section contains:

Account Information Header

  • Profile picture circle with your initials (e.g., "US" for User Student)
  • Add photo button (+) to upload a profile picture
  • Your full name displayed prominently
  • Member status showing when you joined (e.g., "Study Partner since Nov 2025")
  • Three-dot menu icon in the top-right for additional profile options

Personal Details Section

This section displays your basic contact information:

  • Full Name: Your complete name as entered during registration
  • Email Address: Your registered email address for login and notifications
  • Phone Number: Your contact number with country code
  • Home Town: Your city or hometown as specified during registration

Editing Personal Details: Click the edit icon (pencil symbol) in the top-right corner of the Personal Details section to update any of these fields.

Career Goals Section

This section shows your future career aspirations and helps Scout understand your professional goals.

  • Ideal Job Titles: Displays the job positions you're interested in pursuing after graduation. These are shown as tags or chips (e.g., "Flutter" displayed in a blue tag). You can have multiple job titles listed.

Why This Matters: Your ideal job titles help SkillResy tailor future career guidance, recommend relevant study materials, and provide insights into skills you should develop for your desired career path.

Editing Career Goals: Click the edit icon to add, remove, or modify your ideal job titles as your career interests evolve.

Education Section

Your academic background is displayed here:

  • Major/Field of Study (e.g., "Computer Science")
  • Institution/School name (e.g., "Comsats")
  • Expected Graduation Date (displayed in YYYY-MM-DD format, e.g., "2028-11-06")

Multiple Degrees: If you entered multiple majors or institutions during registration, each will be displayed separately in this section with its own graduation date.

Editing Education: Click the edit icon to update your major, school, or expected graduation date as your academic situation changes.

Logging Out

At the bottom of your profile page, you'll find the prominent red "Logout" button. Tap this button when you want to sign out of your SkillResy account.

What Happens When You Logout:

  • You'll be signed out of your account
  • You'll return to the login screen
  • All your data remains saved securely
  • You can log back in anytime with your email and password
  • Your study progress, quiz history, and uploaded documents are preserved

Student Profile Management Tips

  • Add a profile photo to personalize your account and make it easily recognizable
  • Keep your email address current so you don't miss important notifications or updates
  • Update your expected graduation date if your academic timeline changes
  • Regularly review and update your ideal job titles as you explore different career paths
  • Ensure your phone number is correct for account recovery purposes
  • Update your major if you change your field of study
  • Check your profile information at the start of each semester to ensure accuracy

Student vs. Candidate/Professional Profile Differences

  • Student profiles focus on education and career goals, not current work experience
  • Students have "Ideal Job Titles" instead of detailed "Career Goals & Preferences"
  • Students show "Home Town" while Candidates show multiple location preferences
  • Student profiles don't include work experience, skills, or professional achievements
  • Students have a single Education section, while Candidates may have multiple degrees with detailed information
  • The greeting says "Study Partner since" for Students vs. "Member since" for Candidates

Privacy and Security

Your Information is Protected:

  • All information in your Student Profile is securely stored and protected. SkillResy follows strict privacy guidelines to ensure your personal and academic information remains confidential.

Who Can See Your Profile:

  • Your profile information is private and only visible to you. It is used solely to personalize your SkillResy experience and is never shared with third parties without your explicit consent.
  • In future updates of the SkillResy platform, hiring managers and recruiters will be able to gain access to your resumes and career goals to help you find future employment.

Common Profile Updates

Scenarios When You Should Update Your Profile:

  • When you change your major or field of study
  • If your expected graduation date changes
  • When you discover new career interests or job titles
  • If you change your email address or phone number
  • After transferring to a different institution
  • When you want to add a profile photo
  • If you move and your hometown changes

Profile Troubleshooting

  • Can't edit profile information: Ensure you're tapping the correct edit icon (pencil symbol) for the section you want to modify. Check that you have a stable internet connection.
  • Profile picture won't upload: Check that your image file is in a supported format (JPG, PNG) and isn't too large. Try using a smaller image file.
  • Changes not saving: Verify your internet connection is stable. Make sure you're clicking "Save" or "Update" after making changes. Try closing and reopening the app.
  • Forgot password: Use the "Forgot Password" option on the login screen. You'll receive a password reset link at your registered email address.
